page image 8Wimbledon Village (the original part of Wimbledon) and Wimbledon Common are a 10 to 20 minute walk from the town centre. The All England Lawn Tennis Club, where the Wimbledon Tennis Championships are held each year, is located between Wimbledon Village and Southfields and is about a 30 to 40 minute walk from our accommodation.

However, during the Championships there is a special courtesy bus that runs directly to the tennis from outside Wimbledon rail station. It is also possible to take the District Line Underground two stops to Southfields, and it is then about a 10 minute walk to the tennis from Southfields station.

Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle are easy to reach from Wimbledon by train. You can plan your journey on the National Rail website.
